Anyone's cars ever sound really load at times when your driving at slow speeds? Mine gets very loud, almost like its sucking in a ton of wind when its hot out and I'm in stop and go traffic.
It's your mechanical fan...it's triggered when your temp gets to a certain level (don't know what exactly the temp is). Mine does the same thing....slowly dissipates the higher gear ya go....usuallly is totally gone by the bottom of third....correct?
Yeah it goes away once the speed gets around 30 MPH or so. The car runs fime, it just sounds like truck. Hopefully the car getting that hot won't do any damage to the engine
its fine.. its getting loud for a reason.. i wish i could set the fan to run on a switch.. either auto or on.. i had this done in my maxima when i went to the track you could keep the car engine extra cool for more power
Automatics have a mechanical fan that has a thermally activated clutch. The noise is the fan sucking air through the AC condensor and radiator. :str8pimpi
