I am adding an amp and sub to my 2001 330i w/ HK. I keep reading conflicting info on the wiring diagram that I need to tap into. What wire do I use for the remote turn on and what do I need to tap into for the speaker level inputs? Do line level converters make a difference even if my amp has speaker level inputs?
Thanks. I had the remote power correct and it didn't power on. I'm a mechanical engineer so I'm not sure if I could do the mods you described. What do I need to do to get the remote to power it on, minus putting a switch in the cabin of the car?

You CANNOT use the white wire from the HK-subwoofer amp...it's only 9.6v. You MUST use the with wire from the HK-main amp located behind the trunk carpet on the driver side. Many make the mistake of using the sub amp remote to turn on an aftermarket amp...just not enough voltage.
I was using the white wire for pin # 10 going into the amp. Where is the white wire that you are referring to routed? I took apart the drivers side of the tunk. I would go look now but we are having a downpour.
Thanks.
