Q about exhaust cam sensor

So I've been throwing codes indicating an exhaust cam sensor problem shortly after a severe overheating condition. This is then accompanied by a fuel mix ratio beyond tolerance in banks 1-3 and 4-6 so it stands to reason that the code is correct and I possibly damaged the exhaust cam sensor when the engine overheated. It's intermittent and doesn't appear to be wiring connector associated. I've resigned myself to the fact that I'm replacing this part. It's looks easy enough. The problem is which part number should I use?

RealOEM indicates that are two parts # used for this

Use the top part number

#4 ·
12141438082 saids "Up to Apr-04" and you have a 2002.

If you're dealing with the parts people, let them figure it out.
I found out that the top part number "up to Apr-04" is supersceded by the bottom part number.

Thanks for the tip. Looks like RealOEM and bmwfans.info and you can find out pretty much anything you need.

I copied the RealOEM table into excel (HTML copy) so I had the column header information along with the part information in the table. Then I deleted the unnecessary rows from the table, copied that and wrapped it in quotes. But I can't figure out how to get rid of the annoying ******> things.
