hi again, hope you would visit your profile/inbox in next day and see my this message. Im in trouble and a lot of stupid serviceman waste my days. Please help me or show me a way....the problem is O2 post cat sensor's female plugs are doesnot exist on my car. Sound weird maybe, let me explain..I am living some problems about injection time (3rd injector's ms timing is not zero or in average timing range, its raise up to 2ms and later my car engine start to shaking, my fuel consumption is not stable) cause of that want to try montage post cat O2 sensors on my new header's cat. (my car's first owner has removed this 2pcs O2 long sensors from catalitic conv.) and I started to search&find these 2 female plugs/signal cables for connect 2pcs O2 bosch sensors (990mm length cables) but there is no plug no cutted cable etc. Im already using 2pcs pre cat sensors (short cables) I follow their plug signal cables and lead to control unit DME box, I think long O2 sensor cables also must lead to control unit box right? If it is true, then I need buy used female cables and montage it onto right pins of control unit...but how? What I need, a schema, diagram or a drafting? which color cable, which pin etc...I could not find any document, schema or forum topic about it. I know that you are a great person about BMW, please help me, in last 2 days I visit a few serviceman and you really dont want to know their stupid comments! Hope you can show me a way. Best regards, Rifat

    Hi,
I am totally amazed by ur S54 transplant thread. Thank you for taking the time to document it for the community.
I was going to SC my 325 but after reading your thread, I think I am going to do a S54 into a e46 sedan swap this summer.
I am going to use a 6spd instead of SMG, so hopefully that makes it easier.
But I have several questions that have been bothering me and you seem like the perfect person to go to.
Did you swap out the whole harness? Did u put in the whole m3 harness? Or did u integrate m3's DME into the stock sedan harness? If so, how was it done? Any splicing of the harness?
Thank you and look forward to hearing from you.

hi! i read some threads about retrofitting e90 steering wheel on e46.. and told that you have done it before. so, i assume it is possible to fit e90 steering wheel on e46, and the question is what mods have to be done to do this mod?

    thanks alot mite46

the total cost has dropped quit a bit, you can get E46 M3 engine for <3k on ebay now. It's much easier if you do a 6speed swap,....no DSC to worry about

main problems with the swap were with SMG and DSC...they need to match perfectly for it to calculate the shifts properly.

M3 wheels will fit on the sedan but because of the offset it willl rub like crazy...20's will work if the offset is correct.

Hey, i just want to say I have always wanted to do what you did, an e46 m3 sedan. I was wondering how much the total build cost? If you were to eliminate all of the electronics and keep it stock how much would it have cost?

    Hi,

I've read the entire MITE46 web site with great interest,as I have a similiar project which could use some guidance. I am a retired computer systems engineer and techinical car guy. I own a 2006 e-60 bmw with some body and engine mods and a 2000 Lotus Esprit V8 with substantial reprograming of the ECU and suspension mods. I track the Lotus and I am an ex-SCCA sports racer. I also build resto-rods, this is the project I have in mind. I want to put a 2.8 or 3.0 BMW engine & automatic in a 1969 Rambler American. I have most of the details of dimensions and installation worked out. The big issue is getting the latest engine/trans without having overly complicated electronics. I don't want drive by wire, but I want double Vanos. I would like the M54B30 engine, but I am concerned about how much electronics to disable. The M52B28 engine with the Siemens MS42 ECU seems like as far as I can go. The people at Singh Autosport think they can disable the alarm disabler circuit and deal with the missing wheel speed sensors. I know I will need both the ECU and TCM units. What I would like to trouble you for is information, or how to obtain information, on the interdependicies of the ECU, TCM (Transmission Control Module), and Alarm Controller. I don't beleive the BMW dealer will provide information to what information is passed between the modules, or a block diagram, so I can determine how to program around them.

You can e-mail me directly a wellison@sbcglobal.net, I would be happy to call you for any help you can provide. I am located near Sacramento, CA

    Hi,
I need a little help please. I own a 2002 325ci. I recently purchased a set of staggered 19" m3 wheels, and after lowered the jack and test drove the car, I realized that the rear wheels rubbed hardcore over the slightest bumps. So I looked through the forum and saw various users who said that the rear wheels of an m3 would not fit on a standard non m model e46. I see that you are now running DPE 20"s on your e46 323i/m3 sedan. My question is prior to the DPEs how did you fit the OEM M3 wheels on your car? Did you have major rubbing issues? If not, how did you solve the problem? Btw I was reading threw your page about how you made your m3... I see it took a long time, but that car is amazing!
