Nitto NT05 - The M3 Gets New Rubber - Street and Track Review

My new to me 2003 M3 was a solid machine when I got it but it did need a few things and one of them was tires. Having 'invested' in a performance upgrade from my 330i there was no way I would put anything less than the best tires on my new whip.

Too many enthusiasts spend thousands on suspension, brakes, and engine performance to only cheap out on how that handling, braking and power get put to the ground. What good is 333 horse power and M handling if you're constantly over driving the tires?

With that in mind I had my eye on the Nitto NT05s. The NT05s are a step above the Nitto Invos I had on my 330i, and with the M3 being a step above the 330i for performance it made sense.

Just like the Nitto Invos the NT05s have a crazy tread pattern. With wide solid bands of rubber for great traction with highly angular cuts. Just like the Invos these tires are not going to be confused with anything else. I love how aggressive the fat bands of uninterrupted rubber look at 275 wide in the rear of the M3!

With the NT05s mounted by the great guys at Bavarian Performance Group I was impressed with their street performance and more than anything the lack of road noise. I was expecting those wide bands of rubber...

BMW to Exit Formula One at End of 2009 Season

The BMW Group will not continue its Formula One campaign after the end of the 2009 season. Tim330i upgrades to ///M Power

I've been looking off and on for a 2003-2005 E46 M3 in the New England area and finally found one and made it mine. A great member of the site was parting (rather sadly I might add) with his 2003 Titanium Silver M3 and despite several set backs we were able to make a deal and the car has been my daily driver for the past couple weeks!

I started casually looking when M3 prices were driven down by the release of the E9x M3 and the harsh economic conditions. I was checking the classifieds off and on and when I came across this great deal I knew it was what I wanted. The only thing I would change...

BMW Sub-frame Defect Class Action Lawsuit - Settlement Approved - Updated information

BMW Sub-Frame Settlement Approved 8/3/2009 - Details below!

Proposed Class Settlement for Owners and Lessees of 1999-2006 BMW 3 Series Vehicles

On October 24, 2006, Girard Gibbs filed a class action complaint against BMW of North America, alleging that 1999-2006 BMW 3 Series vehicles suffer from defective sub-frames. According to the complaint, the constant loading and unloading associated with normal driving can weaken the sub-frame to the point where it cracks and separates from the chassis, resulting in thousands of dollars of damage to the vehicle. The complaint alleges that BMW was aware of the alleged sub-frame defect, but failed to notify...
